Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy has bemoaned that the response of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy on agriculture sector was hopeless.
Speaking at the Legislative Council Media Point here on Thursday after adjournment of the House, Ponguleti said the Chief Minister, who had assured farmers that he will stand by them, to tell as to why he was not waiving off their loans in one instalment. The Chief Minister didn’t speak on the problems of the farmers, who were silently suffering a lot. The government has failed to instill confidence among the farmers, he added. The Chief Minister had also told the farmers that he would feed curd rice, but the Chief Minister was not bothered about the same farmers now. The farm loan waiver in phases was not enough even to pay interest on the loan, he alleged. (NSS)
