KCR reviews Bonalu arrangements, sanctions Rs. 10 Cr

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has directed the officials to make elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of Bonalu as the State festival.

The Chief Minister issued these directions during a review meeting held at his camp office here on Monday. He also sanctioned Rs. 10 crore for the arrangements of Bonalu festival. While the Endowments Department will spend Rs. 5 crore, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has been asked to release remaining Rs. 5 crore. He asked the officials to ensure proper illumination of all temples in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad besides providing facilities like water and power.

KCR also constituted a committee to supervise the arrangements for smooth conduct of the festival. The committee will be headed by Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy while Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Endowments Minister A. Indrakaran Reddy, Excise Minister T. Padma Rao Goud and Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav will be its members.

GHMC Commissioner and Special Officer Somesh Kumar, Hyderabad Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy and other senior officials attended the meeting. (INN)
