Opining that it was not proper for the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to use the public exchequer to offer his personal ‘mokkulu’ to the god, former minister Marri Shashidhar Reddy has asked the state government to make it public as to how far it followed transparency in preparing ornaments to the Lord Venkateshwara.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Wednesday, Marri demanded the state government to tell the name of contractor who prepared gold ornaments offered to Tirumala Venkateshwara Swamy. He said that he would address a letter to the TTD EO to tell the worth of the ornaments offered to the god. Doubt was arising in regard to ornaments issue due the corruption taking place in the state in every field, he pointed out. There were allegations that corruption took place in the making of ornaments, he alleged and said no chief minister used the public exchequer for their personal ‘mokkulu’.
Condemning the arrest of TJAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram, he said that the arrest was undemocratic and warned the state government that the people would revolt on such arrests. (NSS)
