Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s efforts yielded results and he got Bison Polo ground for construction of new secretariat of Telangana state on the location.
Defence ministry has approved state government’s plea for construction of new secretariat on the location. Bison Polo is spread over a sprawling 30 acre land while the abutting Gymkhana ground is spread over 24 acre. Located in the middle of Secunderabad city, Bison Polo ground is occupied by Indian army. The ground is located at a distance of 2 kms from Secunderabad Railway Station and half km from Begumpet Airport.
The army men have been playing polo for 60 to 70 years hence the name Bison Polo. Presently the ground was being used for playing polo and NCC training.
