KCR turned State into “Baadhala Telangana”, says Mallu

TPCC vice-president Mallu Ravi has alleged that the TRS government, which assured that it would transform Telangana State into ‘Bangaru Telangana’, has transformed it as ‘Baadhala Telangana’ (painful Telangana).

Speaking to the media at the CLP office here on Friday, Ravi said the TRS government was causing more pain to the people by increasing bus fares and power tariff. The TRS party came to power by giving several assurances on the eve of elections but not fulfilled even a single one, he alleged. “The Telangana was a rich State when it was formed as new State but it was fell into Rs one lakh crore debt trap due to erratic functioning of the TRS government. He questioned the TRS government, which was saying that Excise and other taxes were increased, to tell as to why it was increasing the tariffs.

The TRS government has burdened the people with Rs 1800 crore by increasing power tariff and RTC fares at the cost of welfare schemes. The government failed to provide essential goods to the people and increased the prices of petrol and diesel. The TRS government was supporting the contractors, looters, big businessmen at the cost of the common man, he alleged. The government was allocating crores of rupees for the unimportant works, he alleged saying the government was not spending a rupee on the schemes that benefit the people. The government had assured that there won’t be any tax burden while introducing the budget, but the same government increased bus fares and power tariff, he added.

“The TRS government should know how the previous Congress government provided free power to the farmers for 10 years”, he said and asked the Congress cadre to take up protest programs at the Collectorates following the call given by TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy. Reminding the former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s government’s fall when he had increased power tariff, Ravi said the people would teach a fitting lesson to the TRS government in future. (NSS)
