KCR urges Gadkari to lay 4000km roads in State

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has urged Union Minister Nithin Gadkari to lay 4,000 km long roads in the State.

The Chief Minister met Gadkari here on Tuesday along with party leaders B Vinod Kumar, Jithender Reddy, Venugopala Chary and others.

Speaking to the media later, Vinod said Gadkari revealed that a Gazette will be released very soon regarding 13,00 km long road. On the occasion, the Chief Minister brought to the notice of Gadkari that the laying of roads were not taking place on the basis of population. The Chief Minister discussed with Gadkari on the letters sent to the Centre through Union Transport Department and asked Gadkari to see that the national highways to be spread in all districts. He also discussed on dry port in Telangana State. The Chief Minister also urged Gadkari to lay a national highway from Eturu Nagaram to Koutala.

On the occasion, Gadkari assured the Chief Minister that the Centre would release adequate funds to the inland, water and dry port. Gadkari also assured that the roads would be sanctioned as mentioned in the Andhra Pradesh Re-organization Act. (NSS)
