KCR vows to improve Muslims’ living standards; sets up study panel

Expressing concern over the pathetic condition of poor Muslim families, who could not earn Rs 1,000 per month, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today pledged to bring deprived classes and poor into the mainstream through welfare measures followed by a scientific study. He directed the officials to conduct a time-bound study on living conditions, income sources and pathetic conditions through videography.

The Chief Minister held a review meeting at camp office attended by Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali, AIMIM Chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi, Kund Committee member Amirullah Khan, Sudheer committee of Telangana and officials. “We will keep election eve promise of bringing these people into the mainstream with effective implementation of welfare schemes, he stated.

KCR suggested that all political parties involve themselves in the study in at least four Assembly segments on par with those at national level, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu States. The study will finally give impetus on issues related to financial, social and education in the near future in Telangana and make need-based recommendations to the government to initiate welfare programs. The Chief Minister focused the discussion on commission of enquiries, functioning of noted Sachar, Kund and Rahman, and Sudheer committees for welfare of the Minorities.

KCR stressed the need for all political parties offering total support for 12% quota for Muslims in Telangana with long-term, mid-term and short-term objectives. Besides allocating adequate funds through Shaadi Mubarak, Welfare hostels and other steps, the government was keen on bringing the deprived and poor Muslims into the mainstream, he noted.

Amirullah Khan and Shaban were added to Sudhir committee for speedy conduct of the study. (NSS)
