Keen to make Hyderabad crime-free: CP

City Police Commissioner Mahender Reddy here on Saturday said they were making all-out efforts to turn the capital city into crime-free.

The Commissioner was speaking after receiving a cheque for Rs 30 lakh from the Film Nagar Cooperative Society members for installation of 100 CC cameras in Film Nagar at an estimated cost of Rs 50 lakh. Mahender Reddy said one CC camera does the work of 100 police men. Stating that setting up of CC cameras was indispensable to protect and maintain law and order in the twin cities, the CP said they have a target of installing one lakh CC cameras in the city by next year.

The City Police Commissioner also said police personnel would rush to the spot of offence in five to six minutes on receipt of information on Dial 100. He also disclosed that they were trying to improve copless traffic system in the city. (NSS)
