King Cobra rescued from Odisha’s Similipal Tiger Reserve

Odisha: Simlipal Tiger Reserve which is famous for best care of tigers in india. Has rescued a 15 to 16 foot King Cobra on Wednesday night.

The guards who were operating in the Kaptipada Range,were informed by the villagers immediately after which the rescue team head, Krushna Chandra Gochhayat, reached Antapur village and retrieved the snake from a house where it was hiding.

The snake was captured after an hour and handed over to the Kaptipada Range office. It set free later.

The Simlipal National Park is home to three of India’s biggest animal species –Tiger, Asian Elephant and Gaur. Spread over a sprawling area of 2750 sq. kms, the park is at an altitude of 559.31 meters.The reserve remains open from mid October to mid June.
