Kishan Reddy takes charge as BJP Floor Leader in Assembly

Hyderabad: BJP MLA from Amberpet G Kishan Reddy today formally took charge as leader of the party in Telangana Assembly. Before taking charge, Kishan Reddy performed Ganapati Puja.
Kishan Reddy was appointed party floor leader after Dr K Laxman, who was floor leader, was made State party chief. Laxman was the first State BJP chief after formation of Telangana State.
Speaking to the media later, Kishan Reddy said the Assembly should take up issues of public importance on top priority. He accused the ruling party of taking decision “as per its whims” in carving out new districts in the State. He also alleged that the TRS was encouraging defections in violation of Constitution. He demanded that those who defected should tender their resignations and their membership be revoked. The Assembly session should be held for at least a fortnight to discuss people’s burning problems, he demanded. (NSS)
