Kishan warns against deletion of eligible voters’ names

Warning that his party would wage a legal fight if the TRS government removed voters’ names on pretext of lack of Adhaar Card numbers, Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy has alleged that the KCR government was trying to remove votes for the GHMC elections.

Speaking to the media here on Monday, Kishan Reddy said the Supreme Court made it clear that there was no need of Adhaar seeding to the voter card. He alleged that the K Chandrasekhar Rao government was trying to delete voters’ names in Hyderabad City due to fear of defeat in the ensuing GHMC elections.

The BJP leader warned the State government that his party would not keep quiet in case the government removed the eligible voters’ names from the electoral list. He also said it was not proper to link terrorist Yakub’s hanging with the religion. He faulted the MIM leaders for speaking in a manner posing threat to the national integrity. (NSS)
