Demanding that the Telangana government take up drought relief works on war footing, Telangana Political JAC Chairman Prof. Kodandaram has welcomed the mid-day meal scheme for schoolchildren launched in summer.
Speaking to the media here on Thursday, Prof. Kodandaram suggested that the Telangana government extend the mid-day meal scheme to poor children, handicapped and old age people. He also demanded that the government clear the arrears of NREGS works.
Earlier in the day, the School Education Director asked the head masters to send an SMS to the MEOs, DEOs on students’ attendance every day at 9am. He also directed the school management committees to sign in the students’ attendance registers. (NSS)
