Kranthi Diwas observed at Gandhi Bhavan

Hyderabad: Stating that Mahatma Gandhi wanted the nation to be secular country and provided equal rights to all religions, TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy has alleged that the present-day leaders were indulging in communal politics and working against the Constitution killing Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals.

On Sunday, Uttam hoisted Congress party flag on the occasion of Kranthi Diwas on Quit India celebrations day at Gandhi Bhavan premises here on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Uttam said Quit India Movement was launched in August 1942 in Mumbai and continued till the nation achieved freedom. He called upon Congress party, which has history of fighting spirit, cadre to work for the nation by taking spirit from Quit India movement. He said there was a need to the Congress party workers to take up movements by standing by the side of the people and wage fight against the State and Central governments on their anti-people policies.

CLP leader K Jana Reddy, MP V Hanumantha Rao, MLA and AICC secretary G Chinna Reddy, former minister Danam Nagender, former MP Anjan Kumar Yadav, official spokesperson Mallu Ravi, Mahila Congress president Nerella Sharada, Laxmanrao Goud, Kumar Rao and others participated in the program. (NSS)
