KTR dubs Congress as corruption varsity

Hyderabad: Winding up his election campaigning for Palair by-poll here on Saturday, IT Minister K Tarakarama Rao dubbed the Congress as “corruption university” and its top leaders in Telangana are “shamelessly” seeking votes.

Addressing mediapersons along with TRS candidate and Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao in Khammam, KTR asked the people to vote in favour of the ruling party as the Opposition parties, which joined hands cannot do anything. He took serious exception to the TDP joining hands with its arch rival Congress and caused pain to soul of former chief minister NT Rama Rao. He expressed satisfaction that the ruling party has won half the battle by roping in Tummala into the fray. The TDP and Congress could not take on the ruling party on their own and fighting the election with no cause, he rebutted.

The IT Minister ridiculed that most of the Congress leaders are known for facing CBI inquiries for corrupt charges and Uthamkumar Reddy, K Jana Reddy and others who have their PhDs in unethical practices. “People are aware of previous legislators, who failed to develop this region and should support the ruling party candidate, who is vying for development. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is committed to develop this region and roped in Tummala for its speedy growth”, he said.

The minister condemned the allegations of misuse of official machinery. Though losing deposits in every election held, the Congress did not learn a lesson and making false allegations of EVM tampering and others, he said. He also said the government shifted district Collector, SP and other officials at the behest of Election Commission directive which acted on receiving a complaint of the Congress party. KTR exuded confidence that the electors are with the ruling party and will elect Tummala as their MLA. (NSS)
