KTR pulls up officials on rain woes

Expressing displeasure at the delay in shifting of uprooted trees, water clogging and poles on roads during heavy rains and gales in last two days, Municipal Administration Minister, KT Rama Rao today asked the officials to expedite clearing the traffic and remove water clogging through active coordination of GHMC, HMDA, Energy and others.

KTR held a review meeting with the officials KTR directed to speed up restore and repair works and avoid inconvenience to the people. To offer timely help two telephone numbers will come into effect including 100 and 040-2111 1111 he said. Since heavy rains are expected during rainy season joint groups of officials should be formed and prepare an action plan to avert water clogging on the roads that may lead to traffic problems. The minister said that he saw many complaints from people of rains and havoc being caused through media coverage and social media. The electricity staff could not get into narrow bylanes with vehicles that added to power disruption for long time. KTR asked to involve Hyderabad administration, press staff and use generators to lift waters clogged from lower level areas. (NSS)
