Directing stringent measures against illegal sand transport in the State, Mining and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao today asked the Collectors to ensure that the people get sand at their homes on demand.
During a video conference here on Friday, the minister set a target of achieving Rs 4800-crore target through mining, including Rs 800 crore through sand transport and usage in the State. “The Collectors should see that the illegal sand storage and transportation must be seized by pressing task force and flying squads”, the minister said.
He also stressed the need for protecting the interests of the people using sand without any sort of inconvenience and punishing those who are indulging in illegal transportation of sand whose sienerage amount will be given to zilla parishads. (NSS)
