Labours role is key in statehood stir: Kavitha

Workers and labour class had played a key role in statehood movement and stood by Telangana protagonists, MP Kavitha has said. Participating as chief guest in May Day celebrations at Telangana Bhavan, the headquarters of the TRS here on Sunday, Kavitha asserted that nation will witness growth and development when working class is a happy lot. International labour Day is noted for the labour class getting united to fight against the tyranny of industrialists and big businessmen who used to harass them. And now that situation has changed to much extent though the working class is facing problems, she said.

The Nizamabad MP maintained that the labourers achieved their rights after persistent fight. Though, they are facing problems and the state government will help them resolve, she remarked. The managements used to insult and belittle the working class and labourers and now the things have changed as the companies productivity is relying on the working class. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is in favour of labour welfare and will do his best for their cause, she said. Problems of the labour class will be addressed by leader like KCR. Stating that the government will not tolerate corruption, she said. The government has regularized the workers and employees as promised and is taking welfare measures she maintained. Kavitha also suggested the trade unions should bring to the notice of the government on corruption and irregularities in the public sector units. The state government has kept its promise of supplying uninterrupted power supply to industries in the state. MLCs Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, Bhupathi Reddy and others attended the event. (NSS)
