The number of online applications for 71 Minority Residential Schools to begin from June, in Telangana, has reached 20000 but the number of applications from Muslim minority is disappointing.
19277 applications have been submitted in 10 districts till yesterday evening, of which number of applications of Muslim minorities was just 7717 while the number of candidates from majority community has reached 13000. Of the 7717 applications 4979 are of boys and 2740 applications are of girls.
The cause behind low number of applications is believed to be lack of awareness among Muslim minorities.
