Lalu’s son-in-law’s car stolen at gunpoint in broad daylight

New Delhi: The car of RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son-in-law Vinit Yadav was snatched by some unidentified persons at gunpoint near Sikandarpur metro station on the busy M G road on Wednesday, police said.

The white colour Toyota Fortuner was being driven by Vinit’s driver Hari Prakash when four to five assailants intercepted it at gunpoint in broad daylight, a police official said.

“After stopping the vehicle the assailants dragged the driver out of the car and fled with it,” APRO and ACP, Gurgaon Police, Hawa Singh said.

The RJD supremo’s son-in-law, who is a resident of Delhi, was not in the car at the time of the incident, Singh said.

Vineet had asked his driver to park the car while he met an RJD leader a short distance away. Within few minutes, he saw his SUV driving down the highway. Initially, he thought Prakash was taking a turn to park on the other side of the road, when the driver came running towards him and said two men had taken the SUV at gunpoint.

Police have registered a case under the Arms Act and launched a hunt for the culprits, the ACP said.
