Lanka’s first ‘industrial master plan zone’ to be presented in April

Colombo : Sri Lankan Industry and Commerce Minister Rishad Bathiudeen have appointed a special advisory task force to begin work on the country’s ‘first industry zone master plan’ under the unity government in April.

Bathiudeen while addressing at the special industry planning session said the expected blueprint would encourage Public Private Partnership (PPP)model and also integrate top private and public consultants to work in forthcoming industry reforms.

The minister advised the participants of the session to attract private and public consultants to develop a working model to boost industrial plans,reports Lanka Page website.

A total of 2,275 industries of all scales have been registered under the Ministry of Industry and Commerce across all parts of Sri Lanka by end 2015.

Bathiudeen also emphasized on the development of manufacturing sector.(ANI)
