Lashkar Bonalu on July 24 & 25: Talasani

The famous Ujjaini Mahankali Matha Bonalu festival will be held for two days on July 24 and 25, Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav has said.

 

Releasing a poster on the traditional Bonalu at Secunderabad here, Talasani said elaborate arrangements were being made for the event. Huge crowds from districts are expected to flock the temple to attend the Bonalu for two days, he said. Yadav said from July 10, Bonalu festivities will kickstart at Golconda Ammavari temple and culminate at the same place in the last week of July he said.

 

The minister said the State Government was giving equal priority to all the festivals, including Ramzan and Christmas and celebrating them at State-level, he remarked. Under the able stewardship of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, major festivals are recognized as the State events and conducted in a big way, he claimed. “This time, the Bonalu will be celebrated with total festival fervor and gusto and offer Prasadam and drinking water pockets to the devoutees thronging the temples.

 

Srinivas Yadav asked the officials to ensure that no inconvenience was caused to the devotees on the occasion. He also directed them to spruce up the temples to suit the occasion with illumination of bright lights besides barricading, special buses, generators, security, bandobust and traffic regulation. Yadav requested the media to extend cooperation for the smooth conduct of the Bonalu festival. (NSS)
