At last, Abdul Qadeer released from jail after more than 25 years imprisonment

Hyderabad: Govt. of Telangana released 251 prisoners from jail in accordance with the decision taken on the occasion of Prisons Day on 26th January 2016. Orders were issued for their release taking into consideration their good behavior during their stay in jail. Former Police Constable, Abdul Qadeer was finally released from jail after spending 25 years and 3 months imprisonment. After his release from Cherlapally Jail, Mr. Abdul Qadeer directly came to the office of Siasat Urdu Daily to meet Mr. Zahid Ali Khan.

He told Mr. Zahid Ali Khan that he deserves all praise for the continuous efforts he made for his release. He also thanked Mr. KCR, Mr. Mahmood Ali and Mr. Narasimha Reddy. During the past 25 years he was getting release from jail on parole basis but yesterday he was released permanently. During his meeting with Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, he contacted Justice Markandey Katju to thank him. He told that due to the letters written by Justice Katju, his release was materialized.

It may be mentioned that Mr. Zahid Ali Khan wrote letters to Dr. YSR, Dr. K. Roshiya, Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and Mr. KCR in which he had invited their attention that Abdul Qadeer’s one leg has been amputated and to keep him in prison after the completion of life sentence would tantamount to injustice. Justice Katju had also written to Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy giving legal justification for the release of Abdul Qadeer. Later, Justice Katju also wrote a letter to Mr. KCR demanding his release.

It may be noted that Abdul Qadeer was given life imprisonment for assassinating Sattaiya, the then ACP.
