‘Last Message-BYE’ tweets 7-year-old Bana Alabed from war-torn Aleppo

Aleppo: Living in the war-torn city of Aleppo, seven-year-old Bana al-Abed has sent a tweet which she said may be her final message.

The young girl who along with her mother updates about the situation of the rebel-held eastern Aleppo by posting pictures and videos has last night told her 120,000 followers on social media that she was now homeless as her house bombed.

“I saw deaths and I almost died. – Bana”

Bana’s mother Fatemah, 26, a teacher, sign off Twitter with a final tweet saying, “The army got in, this could be our last days sincerely talking. No internet. Please please please pray for us.”

A second tweet read,

“Last message – under heavy bombardments now, can’t be alive anymore. When we die, keep talking for 200,000 still inside. BYE.”

She and her mother has been live-tweeting their experiences and highlighting the lost innocence of children, mourning friends killed since September 24 after joining the social media platform Twitter.

The string of tweets included little Bana pleas, “Someone save me now.”

Earlier, in a livestream video posted, little Bana was seen saying:

“The bombing does not stop, all the time. Aleppo is dying and the world is watching. Where is humanity?”

In the last five years, millions of civilians have been forced out of their homes. 250,000 are trapped without food or clean water.
