Latest technology must for housing scheme: Indrakaran

“The State Government was determined to provide permanent shelter to poor to live with self-respect and it is imperative to use latest technology for speedy completion of the project”, Housing Minister A Indrakaran Reddy has said.

Inaugurating a program of brainstorming session for chalking out a perfect plan here, the minister asked the engineers, contractors and financial institutions to work together for completing on time the housing facility in the given budget. He also launched an office and a website https://www.2bhk.telangana.gov.in.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister asked experts in the real estate sector and others with experience in construction activity to give suitable suggestions for using latest technology to complete on time the housing project. “Right now, Hudco was ready to provide Rs 8000 crore financial assistance for the flagship project and we will pool some more funds”, Indrakaran Reddy stated. “During 2016-17 financial year, we plan to construct two lakh double bedroom houses. In first phase, we will build one lakh houses in villages”, he said, adding that one lakh more houses were sanctioned to Hyderabad in addition to one lakh houses already announced.

“Our plan is to build these houses in the model of G+3, G+7 and G+14 in Hyderabad to accommodate the poor”, the minister said. “Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has informed time and again that the poor should leave in complete self respect with two bedroom housing facility and the government will not compromise on spending required funds. As per estimates and funds planned, we are trying to involve all the stakeholders for the project which should be completed in the given budget using latest technology on time”, he remarked.

Those who attended the meeting came up with proposals of financial assistance and cooperation in construction of housing project. Municipal Administration Principal Secretary M G Gopal, GHMC Commissioner Janardhan Reddy, Housing secretary Ashok Kumar, Housing Corporation Chief Engineer Eshwaraiah and others were present. (NSS)
