Launch KG to PG from 2016: CM

Stating that future of youth relies on education Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today directed that 180 residential educational colleges and schools for SCs and STs with better standards should be launched from 2016-17 academic year. At a high level review meeting with deputy chief minister Kadiam Srihari and officials at camp office, KCR directed to explore opportunities to begin such institutions in first phase to offer the best quality education coming academic year. He also asked to prepare an action plan and coordinate with collectors to find out suitable places. The officials can find government land for the same as it not essential to locate the same at mandal headquarters he said.The chief minister emphasized that priority be given to 32 segments lacking these institutions including areas with SC and ST populated areas. KCR said that besides 70 institutions announced for Minorities, the government announced 130 for SCs and 50 for ST categories as part of KG to PG program to launch 250 residential institutions.  (NSS)
