Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao today set a deadline for officials to see that LED bulbs are fixed up at all cities and towns by coming Ugadi festival besides making efforts for transforming them free from open defecation by next May.
During a high level meeting, KTR directed the officials to set up more nurseries to push ahead the flagship program of Harithaharam in cities and towns. With regard to LED bulbs in the cities and towns, he sought a report department- wise in 15 days. He directed that the cities and towns should be made free from the problem of open defecation by next May. The officials should coordinate at all levels to reach this goal besides focusing on green drive as chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is vying for forest area expansion. Taking a few steps at this direction, we have achieved the target of seeing some qualitative change like drinking water, clean and green drive by involving people he claimed.(NSS)
