Left Parties Burn Modi’s Effigy over Demonetisation

Three Left parties – SUCI, MCPI (U) and CPI (ML-New Democracy) – organized a rally and dharna at Bhaseerbagh cross roads on Wednesday protesting against the Narendra  Modi Government at the centre for causing untold hardships to the common man by demonetization of higher currency notes.

The supporters of the three parties raised slogans against the Prime Minister and the BJP  and burnt the effigy of Modi. Speaking at the rally, the leaders of the three parties lashed out at the central government for unleashing hardships on farmers, daily wage labourers, petty shop keepers etc by the sudden demonetization without taking proper measures to ensure the required flow of money to these sections for their daily needs.

The Left leaders also questioned as to why the government was not initiating criminal actions against many big  industrialists, hawala dealers, businessmen and corporate houses that  have been continuing their unscrupulous methods to protect their black money and ill-gotten wealth. They urged the central government to initiate immediate steps to ease the difficulties of the common man who have been forced to stand in long queues before the banks for the past one week. (NSS)
