A lifestyle event focussed on men

New Delhi: Men in the city can look forward to being the focus of attention through a two-day event ‘Gentlemen’s Club’ that offers shopping, grooming and other activities solely dedicated to them.

The two-day event titled “Gentlemen’s Club” is the brainchild of Smriti and Poonam Puri who claim that since fashion is largely centered around women, they thought of starting one focussing on men.

“Fashion is largely centered around women with little concentration on meeting the requirements that befit a true gentleman. This is a huge opportunity that one can tap into by creating an environment which is catering to the overall needs of men by offering them and to some extent, even introducing them, to some of the finer aspects of boutique luxury all under one roof,” says Smriti.

Gentlemen’s Club aims to create a niche market for men’s luxury, an idea stemmed from the limited availability and knowledge about the presence of quality brands and bespoke wear available in the market today.

The event that ends today includes a fashion show, a stylist makeover, a session on golfing techniques with a Golf Pro, a beer garden, an exclusive Cigar Lounge, Cars and bikes like Maserati, Jaguar, Ducati on display with a session on tech and gadgets to own.

The event also aims to combine retail therapy with interactive sessions with experts from various fields such as watchmakers, cigar connoisseurs, sommeliers and designers.

According to Poonam the name ‘Gentleman’s Club’ came into being because a gentleman is always set apart from his ability to understand, experience and appreciate the finer things of life.
“The event attempts to put together the right experiences

that would be appreciated by such like-minded individuals who understand quality and at the same time ‘Gentlemen’s Club’ is all about an experience. It is all about being able to appreciate excellence and experience boutique luxury. It is about being able to enjoy a lifestyle while you go through a personalised retail shopping experience,” says Sonam, co-organiser of the event.

The event connects an eclectic mix of potential clients the list of which includes HNI’s, corporate executives, industrialists and other affluent individuals.

“We have a session on wine tasting; we’ve created an exclusive cigar lounge, one could master their golfing skills with tips from golf pros. To ensure that the ladies are not left out, we made sure that a special lounge with designers focused on exquisite creations for women, a jewellery corner, etc. Has been set up,” says Smriti.

Brands like Maserati, Jaguar, Ducati, Vacheron Constantine, Dormeuil, Outhouse Luxury, Brahms, Titliest and More Mischief to name a few are participating.

Fashion designers including Sid Tytler, Shivan Naresh, Sachin Vaish, Sahil Aneja and Dhruv Kapoor are showcasing some of their collections at the two-day event that brings together Leisure, Luxury and Lifestyle all under one roof.

The organisers say they want to make it a bi-annual event and take it to other cities as well with a second event being planned in Mumbai.

“We are planning to make this into a bi-annual event. Yes, other cities are also on the cards. We are already being asked to plan the second event in Mumbai. Chandigarh is another city from where we have received a great response. There will be more such experiences created in the near future as well,” says Smriti.
