A lorry crushed a crocodile on Friday night when the crocodile came out on the road from the lake facing National Highway at Kadtal village at a distance of 4 kms from Nirmal. But before the Nirmal police and officials of Forest Department could reach the spot, the crocodile was dead. Later the crocodile was burned.
According to Forest Department officials the crocodile was 2.15 metre long. This was the first incident of its kind in which a crocodile was seen crossing the road. It must be noted that villagers had informed Forest Department regarding the presence of crocodile in the lake.
