‘Lost in a gambling match’ by husband, wife kills herself

Barabanki: Losing money while gambling is never a happy experience, but what if a man put his wife in a gambling match?

A man from UP’s Barabanki area after having lost his all money put his newly-wed wife in a gambling match and lost her.

According to News18 reports, the woman’s father alleged that a night before committing suicide by hanging herself to a ceiling fan, she told him over the phone that her husband had lost her in a gambling match and asked her father for cash.

The father married his beloved daughter to the accused identified as Manoj a.k.a Sonu, thinking she was going in a good family.

But things turned difficult when the woman on the very first visit after marriage informed that her husband was a raging gambler. Every time, the accused lose money in gambling, he thrash his wife and ask for money from her family.

The victims’s father even gave him Rs 2 lakh in an attempt to convinced him so that heshould give up gambling.

The body has been sent for autopsy and the police is investigating the case against the accused and his family.

Earlier in May, a man from Kanpur put his wife at stake in an Indian Premier League (IPL) betting game and lost her.
