M.G. road firing case will be solved soon, says Gurgaon Police Commissioner

Gurgaon, July 15:Gurgaon Police Commissioner Navdeep Singh Virk on Wednesday expressed confidence that the M.G. road firing incident would be solved in the next 24 hours.

“At 9 am, the Police Control room got the information that gun shots were heard near Times tower at MG road.When we questioned people, we found that one Rakesh, who had a criminal background, was shot at by four people after he left his home at Beverly Park. Four to five rounds were fired, and one auto driver was killed after a bullet hit his head,” Virk said.

“Rakesh’s driver was also hit on head and he is being operated upon at Artemis Hospital, he is in critical condition. Another injured auto driver has been admitted to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. Police is investigating the case, we have some names, I am confident that we will solve the case and nab culprits by tonight or tomorrow morning,” he added.

One person was killed and another was left injured, after some unidentified men open fired at an SUV at Gurgaon’s M.G. Road earlier in the morning.

The incident caused the car to topple over onto an auto-rickshaw, reportedly injuring the driver. As a result of the incident, traffic movement was stalled on the adjoining National Highway 8 expressway for more than an hour. (ANI)
