Chennai: Observing that it should not be used for “political purposes”, the Madras High Court on Thursday dismissed a PIL seeking a detailed report from the government on the health of Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, undergoing treatment at a hospital here since September 22.

When the PIL came up, the first bench headed by Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul observed, “This forum should not be used for political purposes and it is publicity interest litigation.”
