Bengaluru: A woman dengue patient alleged that she was molested by a male attendant of Fortis Hospital.
Shiva Kumar (22), a male attendant of Fortis Hospital was arrested after a complaint was filed by the patient’s husband. Woman was admitted to the hospital on 6th October and the incident of molestation took place in the midnight of 6th October itself.
Victim’s husband alleged that Shiva Kumar touched his wife’s private parts on the pretext of checking her. He said that his wife first informed his son who then informed him.
After registering a complaint, police arrested Shiva Kumar from the hospital. He was later produced before a magistrate, who remanded him to judicial custody. On 16th October, court granted him bail. Meanwhile, Fortis hospital fired him.
However, the accused claimed that he did not molest her and was doing his duty. He said that he was checking “urinary catheter” and the patient mistook him.
