Mamata running away from her responsibilities by attacking PM Modi: BJP

New Delhi [India]: Asserting that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government fully supported all the state in their endeavours, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday called on West Bengal Chief Minister to stop complaining against the Centre and focus on fulfilling the responsibilities she has towards her people.

Speaking to ANI here, BJP leader Shrikant Sharma said that Mamata had begun to speak the language of her Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal in hitting out against the Centre.

“She is running away from the responsibilities bestowed upon her by the people of West Bengal. She should focus on her work and refrain from putting false allegations on the Centre. This is a government that fully supports states,” Sharma said.

He further stated that Mamata needs to takes steps against the rampant corruption in her state and try and control the bullying by the Trinamool Congress (TMC) party workers.

Addressing a large rally in Kolkata on Friday, Mamata said she would protest on the roads of Delhi if the Centre and the BJP do not stop interfering in the affairs of West Bengal.

She also took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well saying, “the Modi government has either stopped or slashed funds for various state government projects. He is trying to save money. What for will you save the money? You want to save the money for a coat and get a place in the Guinness Book?”

Last week, Banerjee accused the NDA government of “bulldozing” the federal structure and violating the Constitution.

“It is interfering in the functioning of the state governments. We will seek the opinion of the President,” she said. (ANI)
