Manikonda Wakf land safe – Telangana PCC thanks Siasat Urdu Daily

Hyderabad: Minorities Department of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee thanked Siasat Urdu Daily for exposing the action taken by State Govt. for the allotment of three acres of land on the campus of University of Hyderabad to Sikh Gurudwara Sahebji, South India.

It may be mentioned that Tehsildar, Rajender Nagar, Dy. Collector recommended this case to Collector of Ranga Reddy District. Till this time the Dept. of Minorities Welfare and Wakf Board were in deep slumber. Secretary of AICC and Congress MP, Mr. V. Hanumanth Rao and Chairman of Telangana Pradesh Congress Minority Department, Mr. Mohammed Khaja Fakhuruddin organized a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan and exposed this matter. Siasat Urdu Daily, realizing its Journalistic obligations not only exposed this case but also made an attempt to protect it.

The matter of concern is that even after this exposure, instead of becoming active, State Wakf Board issued a press release contradicting this news. Siasat Urdu Daily then published the allotment order. Dept. of Minorities Welfare and Wakf Board woke up from the deep sleep and made a representation to Collector of Ranga Reddy District and Chief Commissioner of Survey and Land Records. They also negotiated with the members of Sikh community and persuaded them to withdraw their claim from the said property.

Mr. Syed Farooq Pasha Quadri, Congress leader told that it is very regrettable that Dy. CM of Telangana State, Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali is also the Revenue Minister but he is unaware of this transaction. TRS, in its election manifesto had made a promise to dislodge illegal possessions on Wakf land and to handover all the Wakf properties to Wakf Board. If TRS is serious about restoration of illegal possessions on wakf lands and also in the issues pertaining to the Muslims, it should withdraw the claim of ownership of Wakf lands situated at Manikonda made by the Dept. of Revenue. If this is done, all the Wakf properties of Manikonda Jagir will automatically come under the possession of State Wakf Board.
