Many leaders in touch with BJP after UP poll sweep: Laxman

Hyderabad: State BJP president Dr K Laxman today revealed that several leaders from other parties were in touch with his party after the Uttar Pradesh election results.
In an informal chat with mediapersons, Laxman said his party would organize its foundation day celebrations from booth-level on April 6. He said his party would conduct training classes on March 30. Opining that there was a political vacuum in Telangana State, Laxman alleged that benefits of Central schemes were not reaching the people wherever the BJP was not in power.
Making it clear that there won’t be any alliance with the TDP and TRS parties in future and the party would contest the 2019 elections on its own, Laxman said a decision would be finalized on selection of candidates. He also charged Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao with resorting to politics in the name of religion.
Responding to question, Laxman said he hoped Swamy Paripoornananda would not enter politics. There were no groups and differences in the State BJP. He claimed that BJP was the only party that was taking up programs by appointing mandal and district committees. Laxman said his party would contest in all elections, irrespective of win or loss. He said there was a need to increase the number of Assembly constituencies in both the Telugu States. (NSS)
