Master Abid Ali Khan gets Gold medal in shooting championship

Hyderabad: Sports Authority of Telangana State organized shooting championship contest at Gachibowli from 17th to 22nd August. In small bore free rifle prone championship junior man, master Abid Ali Khan scored 287 points and got Gold medal. He is the son of Dr. Saber Ali Khan and grandson of Dr. Shahid Ali Khan who is the younger brother of Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily. Dr. Saber Ali Khan also got a gold medal in another competition of shooting.

 

Master Abid Ali Khan set a record in shooting competition by exhibiting best target hitting. Master Aditya Rao scored 280 points and got silver medal. Master Syed Mohammed Mahmood who secured 279 points got bronze medal.

 

These shooting contest were held under the supervision of the officials of National Rifle Association of India for the proposed pre-national qualifying contests. In all, 61 matches were held in which more than 300 shooters participated. These contests were held for sub-junior, junior, Senior for boys and girls and veterans. 76 medals were distributed. Master Agha Mohammed Zainulabideen got seven gold medals in various categories. Master Achinta Shamat secured 385 out of 14 points and establish a new record.

 

Mr. Dinakar Babu, IAS, Vice-Chairman and MD of Sports Authority of Telangana State awarded the medals. Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily congratulated Master Abid Ali Khan and Dr. Saber Ali Khan for winning the gold medals.
