Matrimonial Alliances: Going astray from Islamic teachings, big hurdle – Jalaluddin Akbar

Hyderabad: Minorities Development Forum of Siasat Urdu Daily organized 59th Du-ba-Du (Face-to-Face) Matrimonial Alliance Program yesterday at Royal Regency Garden Function Hall, Asif Nagar. Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, Managing Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily presided over the function. Mr. Mohammed Abdul Qadeer, acting President of MDF welcomed the guests.

Mr. Jalaluddin Akbar, IFoS, Conservator of Forests while addressing the gathering, told that going astray from Islamic teachings is becoming a hurdle in finalizing matrimonial alliances in the Muslim community. It is therefore, essential for Muslims to refrain from following the civilization of other community and to make Islamic teachings as their model. These days, Matrimonial alliances are not being finalized because the parents are giving preference while selecting the girls to their education, age, height and beauty. All these standards are baseless. The real standard is the character of the girl. He further told that these days Muslim youth are concentrating more on higher education. They are going abroad and making their financial status strong. There are other youths who are making film stars as their role model. They should follow the personality of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) and Quran and Hadith should be their models. Wedding is very simple in Islam, but the Muslims have made it very difficult.

He gave the details of Shaadi Mubarak Scheme and said that Govt. is giving financial assistance to the tune of Rs. 51000 to the destitute girls for their marriages. He also welcomed the campaign launched by Mr. Zahid Ali Khan to minimize wedding expenses by serving only one dish and one sweet.
