Maulana Azad played a key role in the Independence of India – Vishweshwar Reddy

Hyderabad: TRS MP, Mr. Konda Vishweshwar Reddy while address the 127th birthday celebrations of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad held at Rajendra Nagar paid rich tributes to Maulana Azad. He told that Maulana Azad had played a key role in the freedom struggle of India along with Mahatma Gandhi and Pandith Nehru. So long as history continues, the name of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad would be on its top. He made many sacrifices and fought against the British. After the Independence of India, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was made the first Education Minister. Govt. of Telangana is celebrating his birthday as Minorities Welfare Day. Mr. KCR is making an attempt to resolve all the issues of Minorities. Govt. is sanctioning Rs. 51000 under Shaadi Mubarak Scheme for the poor Muslim girls for performing marriage. Besides this, many other schemes have been introduced for the welfare of Minorities. Mr. KCR is serious about eradication of unemployment. Govt. is sanctioning loans to unemployed youths.

On the issue of 12% reservation for Muslims, Mr. Reddy said that TRS had made a promise for it. This will be implemented soon. He also told that only TRS Govt. can provide 12% reservation to Muslims. TRS is a welfare Govt. and it is making an attempt to develop the State through various welfare schemes.

Mr. Abdul Muqeet Chanda, TRS General Secretary of the State Cell of Minorities, in his address told that Muslims have played an important role in the freedom struggle of India which include Bahadur Shah Zafar, Tipu Sultan, Maulana Azad and others. These leaders made many sacrifices for the freedom struggle of India.

Mr. Syed Muzammil Ahmed, TRS leader of Upperpalli Division told that Maulana Azad was a great leader. After the independence of India, Maulana Azad functioned as Education Minister.
