Mayawati condemns attacks on Hindu speaking people in Gujarat

Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati on Tuesday strongly condemned attacks on Hindi speaking people in Gujarat. She questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence over growing attacks on migrants from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh in his home state Gujarat. She expressed her views while speaking at an event held to mark Kashi Ram’s death anniversary.

Mayawati said people of Uttar Pradesh Bihar and other states are being forced to leave Gujarat by attacking them. She said UP people never did such discrimination. They even made Narendra Modi the prime minister of the country by sending him to parliament from Varanasi.

Mayawati said BJP is playing hate politics in Gujarat. She held the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party responsible for the attacks. She said after attacks on Dalits and minorities they are now dividing people on the basis of regions.

She also slammed Bihar and Uttar Pradesh chief ministers Nitish Kumar and Adityanath for the delay in taking up the attacks with their Gujarat counterpart Vijay Rupani.
