Mayor Bontu Rammohan today warned that stern action would be taken against those, who construct structures illegally by encroaching tanks.
The Mayor today visited tanks at Bowenpally, Hasmatpet tanks in Secunderabad along with GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy and Kukatpally MLA Madhvaram Krishna Rao.
Speaking to the media later, the Mayor said a large extent of land of Bowenpally tank was encroached upon and now the 67-acre tank has shrunk to 27 acres. All lands of tanks in the city were encroached upon and it was the responsibility of the government and people to free those lands from the encroachment, he said. He also made it clear that nobody would be spared if they try to grab government land. (NSS)
