Mayor of London, Dr Saleha Jaffer pledges to impart vocational & self employment training to Hyderabadi women

Mayor of Lambeth City, South London, Dr Saleha Jaffer who hails from Telangana State pledged that she will spend the amount received by her as a mayor on needy persons of Hyderabad. She told this while giving an exclusive interview to Siasat. She asserted that he has decided to spend the amount received under Mayor Charity over technical education and self employment plans for Hyderabadi women. She has also acknowledged the council with her decision.

She informed that she was elected as councillor in 2014 for London Lambeth Council and now the labour party members have elected her as mayor for the period of 1 year.

The first Muslim mayor of London Lambeth Council, Mrs. Saleha Jaffer said that she was born in Nalgonda and reached this position after going through very tough times. She informed that she worked with an NGO Families against Stress and Trauma.

Saleha was born in Nalgonda district in Telangana and migrated to UK in 1970. She entered politics in 2014 through the Labour party. She previously held the post of the Deputy Mayor of Lambeth city and took charge as Mayor of the city, last week.
