MBBS doctor among four commits suicide

Failure in PG exams drove a MBBS doctor to suicide in Alwal police limits.

The victim, Dr. M. Anusha, 26, resorted to the extreme step by hanging to the ceiling at her residence in Alwal on Friday night. She had failed to clear her PG exams in last two attempts and was reportedly preparing for the third time. The same depression and pressure is suspected to have driven her to suicide.

In another case, P. Lakshmi, 19, of Jagatgirigutta, died of burn injuries which she had sustained after setting herself ablaze. She took the extreme step on June 17 and died at a private hospital on Saturday. Ill-health is suspected to be the reason behind suicide.

In a different case, P. Srikanth, 22, committed suicide by hanging to the ceiling at his residence in Ravalkole on Friday night. Financial problems are suspected to have driven him to the extreme step, according to Medchal police.

In a separate case, P. Suresh, 32, of Harshaguda, committed suicide by consuming some unknown poison. He took the extreme step on Friday and died at a private hospital a few hours after admission. According to Pahadishareef police, Suresh had allegedly collected some money from jobless youth on the promise of providing them jobs. Since he failed to fulfill the promise, the victim had threatened to lodge a police complaint against him. Fearing a police case, he resorted to the extreme step. (INN)
