MBT discusses strategy for GHMC elections

The Majlis Bachao Tahreek (MBT) has decided to strengthen its organisation in the city in view of forthcoming elections for Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

Addressing a meeting of party leaders and workers at Rahmat Mansion in Chanchalguda on Sunday, MBT President Dr. Khayam Khan said that the entire Old City of Hyderabad was engulfed in several problems. Instead of resolving the problems being faced by the people, the MIM leaders were working for personal gains. He accused the TRS Government of completely neglecting the Old City.

Dr. Khayam Khan said that the TRS Government has failed to fulfil the promises that it made with the Muslim community specially the 12% reservations. He said despite completion of 18 months in power, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has totally failed to address a single issue concerning Muslims of Telangana. He said that the people of GHMC would teach a fitting lesson to the MIM and TRS for their failures.Dr Khayam Khan said that the MIM leader ship will also have to answer their silence on killing of five Muslim under trails by TRS Govt in the coming GHMC Elections.

MBT Spokesperson Majeed Ullah Khan @ Farhat Khan asked the MBT workers to gear up for the GHMC elections and said despite being in opposition, the MBT have always raised people’s issues without any fear. He said money and muscle power was being used to suppress the MBT. However, he expressed confidence that the MBT would emerge as a major force in next GHMC elections.

Amjed Ullah Khan (Ex Corporator) said that the MBT has finalised its strategy to take on MIM and TRS in the next elections.

The MBT leaders also discussed preparations for the conduct of 22nd Milad Un Nabi to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) to be held on 2nd Jan 2016 at govt. Junior College Ground, Chanchalguda

The meeting began with the reciting of Holy Quran by Hafiz Qari Naval-ul-Rahman. MBT leaders including Syed Taher, Altaf Naseeb Khan, Majid Khan, Sikandar Mirza and others addressed the meeting. (INN)
