Meerut: STF arrests Bangladeshi national with fake Indian documents

Meerut (Uttar Pradesh) [India]: The Special Task Force (STF) on Sunday arrested a Bangladeshi national from Meerut’s Phalauda area with an illegal Indian passport and other documents.

The person, identified as Abu Hanna, S/o Abdul Hanna, is a resident of Bangladesh’s Rajshahi area.

The team of STF has recovered an illegal Indian Passport, Aadhar Card, Voter Id, Pan Card, Domicile certificate, an Indian SIM, a Bangladeshi SIM card and Rs. 210 from his possession.

This arrest was made under the campaign launched by the STF team to nab criminals with bounty on their heads and illegal immigrants living in the area.

The team of STF chalked out the plan to nab Abu Hanna, on the information received by a closed source about his whereabouts.

As per information Abu Hanna also went to Bangladesh few months back and returned form their after a month.

Due to the background information received about him, it is being speculated by the STF that Abu Hanna may be involved in some illegal activities and hence, arrested him.

On being interrogated, Hanna accepted that he ran away from Bangladesh and entered India illegally few years back. He said that he had worked at different places in Kolkata, Muzaffarpur, Delhi, Ludhiana and later in 2006, married a woman who belonged from Meerut. He then settled here with his wife, whose family helped him to get the fake Indian document.

His wife Shabana works as a beautician in Saudi Arabia and will return in few months. They were planning to move to some other city after the locals of the area began threatening him for being Bangladeshi. (ANI)
