Haryana: Tippu a super donkey which is ten times higher than normal mules and its daily diet includes five kilograms of black gram, four litres of milk and 20 kg of green fodder. Its owner Raj Singh a Sonepat-based mule trader in Haryana spends nearly Rs 1,000 per day on him.
Tippu has drew many appreciative glances and buyers but Raj Singh has demanded Rs 10 lakh for its sale. He said. “Tippu is no ordinary donkey. We are using it for breeding mules and it is a jack donkey. A male donkey or ass is called a jack. It is nearly seven inches taller than a normal donkey. I was offered Rs 5 lakh by an Uttar Pradesh-based breeder at the Beri Cattle Festival in Rohtak but I refused. I want double the price for Tippu as it is unique and the biggest among its species”.
Raj Singh and his younger brother Rajnish runs the mule-breeding family business. They have so far sold donkeys between Rs 3 to 3.5 lakh but Tippu is unique among mule breeders. Its visitors include people from Rajasthan, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Raj Sigh said. “I take him to an open space where he indulges in all sorts of recreational activities (masti) including sprawling on the ground. His stable has a fan and we take out time to take him out in the open during the night. For us, he is not a donkey. He is a star and a priceless one”.
He just owns a single Jenny (female donkey) and charges Rs 10,000 for it.
