Mehbooba set to become first woman CM of J&K

Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders called upon Jammu and Kashmir Governor N.N. Vohra to hand over a letter of support to party chief Mehbooba Mufti, paving way for her becoming the first woman Chief Minister of the State.

The J&K Chief Minister’s post is lying vacant after the death of 79-year-old Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, who breathed his last on Thursday morning at All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi.

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Choudhary Lal Singh said Mahbooba Mufti deserves to be the CM, and his party (BJP) should not be having any problem with her coronation.
