Mehbooba should take responsibility for ongoing unrest: Omar Abdullah

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir): Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Friday trained guns at incumbent Mehbooba Mufti and asked her to take responsibility for the prolonged unrest in the state.

” Mehbooba Mufti blamed me for 2010 situation (unrest), I accept the blame. Will she accept the blame for 2016?” said Abdullah.

He further said that both India and Pakistan have to move together for ending the atmosphere of tension in the valley.

“Both India and Pakistan have to take steps to lessen tension and work towards an atmosphere of talks,” said Abdullah.

Seven soldiers and several terrorists were killed in two separate attacks in Jammu earlier on Tuesday.

The first attack took place in Nagrota on the outskirts of Jammu city where terrorists, carrying guns and grenades stormed into an Army camp.

All two terrorists were gunned down by the security forces, seven Army men were killed in the gun battle.

The second incident took place in Samba sector near the Pakistan border where the forces gunned down three militants.

The attacks at the army base and a BSF camp were the latest in a series of militant violence that has escalated after the September 29 surgical strikes at terror launch pads by the Indian Army in Pakistan-administered Kashmir. (ANI)
