Mere apologies won’t work: Congress tells PM Modi

New Delhi, Sept. 11 : The Congress Party on Friday alleged that it has become an old habit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to commit mistake and then apologise for the same.
Congress spokesperso n Randeep Surjewala said Prime Minister Modi has been committing the same in the last 15 months.

“The Prime Minister first makes mistakes and then apologises. It has been his habit for the last 15 months,” Surjewala told the media here.

“Will he return the money required for the rally in Chandigarh? Will he apologise without any condition from Brigadier Devendra Singh and his family? Will he apologise to our leaders who have been arrested illegally in Chandigarh? Will he probe against the Chandigarh administration or the leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party and his security personnel and workers, who had done this misdeed?” he asked.

The Congress spokesperson further said that the Prime Minister needs to take some concrete steps instead of making apologies.

Many schools in Chandigarh were shut down today in view of security purposes for Prime Minister Modi’s visit.

“The inconvenience caused to citizens in Chandigarh, especially shutting of schools due to my visit is regretted. It was totally avoidable,” Prime Minister Modi tweeted.

“An inquiry will be held & responsibility will be fixed for the inconvenience caused to the people of Chandigarh,” he tweeted. (ANI)
