Microsoft, Infosys to boost startups: KTR

Minister of IT and Panchayat Raj, K Tarakarama Rao today said Microsoft and Infosys will play a key role in giving boost to IT sector in the State. Microsoft ventures will come up in the city soon, he told media persons after Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella visiting T Hub here.

KTR said Satya Nadella will launch five IT policies in February next and will help set up White Space Technologies in backward Mahbubnagar dirstrict first and offer training programs. He also said Microsoft will help in building the startup ecosystem here. “The State government wants to bridge the last mile connectivity problem”, he said, adding that Satya Nadella wants local entrepreneurs to partner with Microsoft for this technology.

KTR said they are also working on cloud enablement of a lot of small and medium enterprises to build a sustainable business environment. “To work on education, Telangana government is focused on ensuring that the best of education is offered to our children”, he said. KTR appealed to Microsoft to help digitalize the thousands of classrooms across the State. The State Government will extend all cooperation for full-fledged expansion of Infosys Company in Pocharam which will have a workforce of 25,000 by next year. Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka met KTR and offered to associate with T Hub after visiting it. Later KTR said next meeting of Vishal with startup companies will give clarity on funding and activity. (NSS)
